- POWERBOOK DOCKS
-
- For the regular PB, Pilot Technologies sells a dock for $129 that the
- big PB's slide into. The concept is, I guess, similar to that for the
- Duo MiniDock, but without "Apple's exclusive and revolutionary
- PowerLatch(tm) technology." 800-682-4987.

- DUO DOCKS
-
- E-machines sells 2 Duo docks.
-
- (1) The Presenter has an ADB, HDI floppy, sound, RGB and composite (RCA
- jack) video, and AC adaptor ports. It appears that the serial and modem
- port on the back of the PB are accessible. Note that this lacks a SCSI
- and audio in port, but gains the composite video w/respect to the
- MiniDock. It is claimed that lots of different video devices (NTSC, PAL
- tv's and vcr, SVGA monitors, most Mac displays, LCD panels) can be
- driven. List is $499.
-
- (2) The DeskNet has a power switch, AC, floppy, ABD, RGB, serial,
- 10Base2 Ethernet, SCSI, audio in, audio out, 10BaseT Ethernet ports. It
- adds the Ethernet ports to the ports on the MiniDock. List is $699.

- I'm not associated blah blah. I'm just in the market, and thought that
- other people might appreciate this info on alternatives.
