- Over the past eight months, I've had a CPU & monitor give me a real headache. The LC, with a
- 13" Color monitor, standard keyboard and Kensington Turbo Mouse, would boot with
- Extensions Off. Disconnecting the mouse or keyboard would allow it to restart normally, with the
- exception of this week. During my diagnostic routine, I swapped out the mouse, the keyboard and
- even the CPU to get into the problem. Technicians could not determine a hardware problem.
-
- This week, the machine finally balked and refused to come up with the standard reboot (for it).
- After consulting with a new person, we finally settled on switching monitors. I put a monochrome
- on the LC for perfect results. The color works fine on my SI.
-
- I asked the service manager here about the issue of fixing this monitor. He informed me that Apple
- had recently advised that 13" color monitors should not be used on the LC. If anyone has received
- notice or has documentation on this, would you forward notes to me?
-
- Thank you.
