- Martin Lilly,LILMARA@YaleVM.YCC.Yale.Edu, whose daughter magnetized his color

- Probably not.
-
- As other suggested, the internal degaussing coil may remove the residual
- magnetism. However, these coils are not designed to be too strong or for
- continuous operation. Their duty cycle is typically about one operation per
- day, so don't hit the degaussing button 50 times in three minutes; you may burn
- the coil out.
-
- If you can not restore the screen using the internal de-gaussing coil, try
- using a more powerful, external coil. Your friendly, neighborhood,
- TV-repairman will likely have one with enough power to do the job. Worse case;
- Radio Shack should have one.
-
- Be sure to remove other magnetic materials, like disks, etc., from the field
- of the coil.
-
- If it is really badly magnetised, I have had good luck using a powerful audio
- tape bulk eraser to zap things back to normal. These typically have much
- higher fields than the de-gaussing coil.
-
- Good luck!
