  12. Here's the prob: I have a Mac Classic II, 4 MB of RAM, 40 MB
  13. internal hard drive (Apple standard), and a SyQuest 88 MB
  14. external cartridge drive.  I have a lot of INITS, including
  15. FWB's excellent HDT Prober(tm) version 1.2.  I'm running
  16. System 7.0.1 (the earliest systm that will boot a Classic II),
  17. with TuneUp 1.1.1.

  19. Problem: my brightness gets reset every time I shut down, to
  20. about 50%.  I usually keep it turned down to about 20% (of
  21. the slider in the Brightness CDEV--I haven't measured this!  8-})
  22. so I find this a bit annoying.  Any suggestions?

  24. I've *not* tried disabling the INITs, simply because 1) I've got
  25. a lot of 'em, and 2)I didn't think INITs wrote to PRAM with
  26. any frequency...
