- About a month or two ago I purchased a new Macintosh system comprised of a IIvx
- (4/80) with extended keyboard, and Apple's "new" 14" Color Monitor. After
- connecting everything up and powering on, I noticed there was a minor defect in
- the monitor's display: about 1/4 way up from the bottom of the screen there was
- a line of faded pixels accross the monitor. It looks like its maybe one or two
- pixels wide, and seems like the line is dimmer than the rest of the screen.
-
- At the time I needed the computer to badly to do anything about it, but now I
- have a respite and so I called my dealer. My dealer told me that this defect is
- caused by a wire problem in the monitor, and that there is basically nothing
- that can be done about it. Is this true? I have a hard time believing that Apple
- would make a monitor with an inherent display flaw, and especially in the newer
- 14" monitors since they could have fixed the design from the 13" model.
-
- Help! Is my dealer snowing me? Has anyone else heard about, or seen if you have
- a 13" or 14" monitor, anything like this before?
