  12. About a month or two ago I purchased a new Macintosh system comprised of a IIvx
  13. (4/80) with extended keyboard, and Apple's "new" 14" Color Monitor. After
  14. connecting everything up and powering on, I noticed there was a minor defect in
  15. the monitor's display: about 1/4 way up from the bottom of the screen there was
  16. a line of faded pixels accross the monitor. It looks like its maybe one or two 
  17. pixels wide, and seems like the line is dimmer than the rest of the screen.

  19. At the time I needed the computer to badly to do anything about it, but now I
  20. have a respite and so I called my dealer. My dealer told me that this defect is
  21. caused by a wire problem in the monitor, and that there is basically nothing 
  22. that can be done about it. Is this true? I have a hard time believing that Apple
  23. would make a monitor with an inherent display flaw, and especially in the newer
  24. 14" monitors since they could have fixed the design from the 13" model.

  26. Help! Is my dealer snowing me? Has anyone else heard about, or seen if you have
  27. a 13" or 14" monitor, anything like this before?
