- I've recently purchased a PowerBook 160, and have a spare VGA monitor that
- I could hook it up to. Apparently, this is possible. My problem is
- simply this: The nifty little monitor cable that came with the machine
- has 15 pins in two rows of 8 and 7 pins. The VGA monitor has 15 pins
- arranged in 3 rows of 5. I went to my local Apple dealer and asked if
- there is a cable to overcome this, and they were rather clueless.
- Hence, I pose my question to the masterminds who read this newsgroup.
-
- Are the pin numbers the same? That is, if I make a cable myself connecting
- corresponding pins, will it work? Or is there a different arrangement
- which is necessary? Also, does anyone happen to know if a multisynching
- (autosynchronous) monitor is necessary?
-
- Finally, another stupid question. There's another monitor lying around
- (again, a VGA) which has a 9 pin (5 + 4) connection. Any ideas on how
- this could be connected?
-
- Thanks in advance.
