  19. Given that I can't recall what the option looks like or where it's installed, 
  20. here's what I would do:

  22. 1. attach the printer using a standard Imagewriter cable to the printer
  23.    port on a Mac.

  25. 2. install both the Imagewriter and Appletalk Imagewriter drivers on the
  26.    Mac.

  28. 3. open the Chooser and see where the printer shows up. [installing the
  29.    option disables direct-connect mode]

  31. I think the board goes under the ribbon carriage in the front of the printer, 
  32. but I haven't installed one for about 6 years.
