  14. Hi all.  I have a REALLY BIG problem...

  16. I have a 1988-vintage Imagewriter II which I picked up used 1 1/2 years 
  17. ago.  From "day two" it's had a bad habit of having the red plastic piece
  18. around the printhead's pins loosening up, and causing the ribbon to drag
  19. on the paper.  This problem was "bearable".
  20.  
  21. Now the plastic piece has decided to break in half, and it's come out of
  22. the head.  My queston is this:  I don't want to spend triple-digits to
  23. get a new head for my printer.  What does one of these puppies cost?
  24.  
  25. Any ideas as to whether there may be hope in "letting my fingers do the
  26. walking" through local repair shops? Anybody got a "brain-dead" IW II 
  27. that they're scrapping???
