  13. I got a pretty good deal on a QuickComm Spirit II 14.4 fax modem,
  14. which I am using with no problems as a data modem with my Mac. The
  15. only problem I am having is trying to get it to work properly as a
  16. faxmodem. I've purchased FAXstf, which is billed as a "hardware
  17. independant library of power fax software for the macintosh."

  19. However, there is no provision for the QuickComm Spirit II in the
  20. installer. The folks @ FAXstf say that if only I could tell them the
  21. Chipset & ROM, perhaps I could install it ok. The folks @ QuickComm
  22. repeatedly failed to answer my direct question about the Chipset &
  23. ROM. Now what am I to do? Is there anyone out there who knows anything
  24. about the Chipset & ROM?
