- I can't get Word (5.0a) to do a decent job with text oriented at 90
- degrees (for example, the y-axis label of a graph). I have a Personal
- LaserWriter LS, which is a 300 dpi, non-postscript printer. My
- understanding is that the computer basically sends a bitmap of the
- page to be printed, so the printer is too stupid to be at fault here.
-
- What happens is this: Rotated text gets printed at 72 dpi. It happens
- with Pasted PICT objects, as well as ones made with Word's own PICT
- editor.
-
- Not a disaster, I know, but it looks sloppy, and it seems like it
- doesn't have to be this way. Claris CAD can print rotated text at 300
- dpi. Word can even print 300 dpi bitmaps o.k.
-
- Has anyone discovered an antidote for this?
- Is the problem solved in Word 5.1?
