  17. I actually purchased their "upgrade" package at this price, with the same
  18. surprise billing.  Luckily, it was a VISA purchase. I
  19.     1) Immediately called Chipsoft and complained.  They promised
  20.            to credit the $4.50.
  21.         2) Contacted the VISA issuer and contested the $4.50.
  22. As of 6 weeks after the purchase, ChipSoft had not yet issued the credit.

  24. I was, and still am, pretty upset about Chipsoft's marketing, slow response
  25. to consumer complaints, and (possibly) empty claims of "improvements" to their
  26. products.  They add features which might make MacInTax easier to use for
  27. simple returns, but do not correct basic design and interaction problems that
  28. make MacInTax hard to use for longer returns.

  30. But, well, it's the only product on the market.  (Yes, I tried TaxCut Headstart
  31. and many necessary features didn't work---like itemization sheets).
