- I actually purchased their "upgrade" package at this price, with the same
- surprise billing. Luckily, it was a VISA purchase. I
- 1) Immediately called Chipsoft and complained. They promised
- to credit the $4.50.
- 2) Contacted the VISA issuer and contested the $4.50.
- As of 6 weeks after the purchase, ChipSoft had not yet issued the credit.
-
- I was, and still am, pretty upset about Chipsoft's marketing, slow response
- to consumer complaints, and (possibly) empty claims of "improvements" to their
- products. They add features which might make MacInTax easier to use for
- simple returns, but do not correct basic design and interaction problems that
- make MacInTax hard to use for longer returns.
-
- But, well, it's the only product on the market. (Yes, I tried TaxCut Headstart
- and many necessary features didn't work---like itemization sheets).
