  13. Hi,
  14. We are adding macintosh file sharing services(3.01) to our Novell
  15. server (3.11).  This is in a student departmental lab (apprx 500
  16. accts on the server). we have macs running both system 6.0.8 and 7.0 1.
  17. There will be many students using the same macs. so each mac can not
  18. be individualized for a single user.

  20. I am looking for ways to set up the Macintoshes so when a person turns
  21. on the mac, it will:
  22.  
  23. 1. prompt them for a username and password without the user manually using
  24.    the chooser. and log them in without letting them pick which volumes
  25.    to mount or the save name/password options.
  26.  
  27. 2. i would like to have the users personal directory mounted on the desktop
  28.    rather than making the user go to it themselves.  Is there a way to have
  29.    the alias function or Novell itself do this??

  31. or if you have any other ideas on a way to setup macs for this type of
  32. enviorment, let me know!! all ideas (well within reason) appreciated :-)
