- Hi,
- We are adding macintosh file sharing services(3.01) to our Novell
- server (3.11). This is in a student departmental lab (apprx 500
- accts on the server). we have macs running both system 6.0.8 and 7.0 1.
- There will be many students using the same macs. so each mac can not
- be individualized for a single user.
-
- I am looking for ways to set up the Macintoshes so when a person turns
- on the mac, it will:
-
- 1. prompt them for a username and password without the user manually using
- the chooser. and log them in without letting them pick which volumes
- to mount or the save name/password options.
-
- 2. i would like to have the users personal directory mounted on the desktop
- rather than making the user go to it themselves. Is there a way to have
- the alias function or Novell itself do this??
-
- or if you have any other ideas on a way to setup macs for this type of
- enviorment, let me know!! all ideas (well within reason) appreciated :-)
-
- well this is enough for now... please respond either to me directly
- (jjp8508@chennov1.tamu.edu) or to this list.
-
- Thanks in advance!!
