- I have a very simple question about the use of the spooler. After having
- read the spool(3) man page, one thing is not clear to me: what does a
- reply() call do when given a message that came (either via play-back or
- play-through) from the spooler? The man page mentions using the spooler
- in a "callback" style, but gives no examples (Sorry, but I've loaned my
- printed manuals out :-( ).
-
- The situation is: I have my system running at home on an RS/6000 and on
- the campus network at CMU. The RS/6000 is connected to campus via a SLIP
- link at 9600 baud (well, better with MNP5, but you get the drift). I
- would like to use ISIS long-haul communications to implement a slow but
- working interconnection between the two installations. Without going
- into more detail on my application, suffice it to say that this looks
- like it should be fairly trivial to do, I just can't figure out what
- levers to pull. If the printed docs for 2.2.7 already answer this
- question, please excuse my ignorance -- just point me at the relevent
- sectn and I'll bother the person who has it.
-
- Cheers,
