- Lourdu sent me the protos log file and I thought people might find
- it interesting to see how we resolved this:
-
- The file starts with:
- Fri Dec 11 16:34:17 1992
- ... this is the date protos was booted. At the end it has:
-
- ... Time is now Sat Jan 2 10:31:51 1993
- ISIS TIMER RESET...
-
- and nothing about killing his process at all.
-
- So... we pin this down to case (3):
- > 3. protos doesn't send pings through and the client concludes that
- > protos is dead
- This seems to confirm that Isis has a bug after 26 days or so!
-
- The easiest fix for him, and for anyone else, is to just reboot
- protos before 26 days expire. The hack I suggested would also work
- and would let you leave protos running.
-
- I'll post a fix to the real bug later this week...
