- I have a Future Domain MCS-700 installed in a Model 80, where it is
- connected to a single hard drive. It can operate as SCSI-2, but the
- drive I am using is SCSI-1. It uses no driver, DMA channels nor interupts
- when operating under dos. Under OS/2 you need a special driver.
-
- I am pleased with this combination. It is reliable and, considering
- that this is a 16Mhz Model 80, it is quite fast: the adapter and disk
- combination typically can transfer about 1,000 kb/sec.
-
- Incidentally, I got both host adapter, drive and rel. hardware as
- a package from Perisol Technologies, who specialize in such
- upgrades for PS/2s.
