  18. Well, even though I would like to say that our scanner (F-PROT) was the best,
  19. the fact is that no single scanner is the "best" in every sense.  It depends
  20. on exactly which combination of features you are looking for.  Most scanners
  21. will detect most of the viruses you are ever likely to encounter - that is the
  22. 100 or so viruses that are spread "in the wild" (out of a total of over
  23. 2000 different MS-DOS viruses).  They may differ with respect to the
  24. capabilities of the TSR portion, disinfection capability, and other such
  25. features.

  27. Actually, the best approach for you might be to download 2 or three scanners
  28. from a site such as oak.oskland.edu (/pub/msdos/trojan-pro).  There you will
  29. find F-PROT (version 2.06a), SCAN (version 99, I think), TBscan and possibly
  30. a few others.
