- As a former Amiga (A500) owner, I'd have to say that the A4000 is very
- impressive! It does offer a lot of "out of the box" features. It's got a
- kick-ass multi-tasker, an INTELLIGENT ram disk, great sound, video, and
- lots of other great stuff.
-
- I moved to IBM compatibles because (at the time) the Amiga market
- appreared to be dying and the IBM clone market was just beginning to boom.
- The clone market is still booming, but Amigas have made one hell of a
- comeback from when I sold mine. BTW, my first hard drive was on my
- amiga... back when Amiga hard drives were just becoming known.
-
- Anyway, enough of my flashback... Someone asked how the IBM world views
- Amigas, so here's my answer:
-
- The Amiga is no more of a game machine than my 386. They are great for
- graphics, sound, MIDI, and so on. Commodore deserves a lot of credit for
- what they have turned the amiga into.
