- Be careful! I just bought a system with AMI BIOS, and when I first
- booted it up it appeared as if it scanned all memory. When inspecting the
- BIOS setup, the extended memory check was DISABLED. It still flipped through
- all 4M of memory, even though it wasn't performing a check! Check your
- BIOS setup to see if its really verifying the memory.
