  16. I recently aquired a Wangtek qic streamer (5125EN) together with
  17. a controller card from Wangtek (PC36, doing QIC-02, I think).
  18. As I don't like SYTOS, I want to write a device driver for
  19. MSDOS, or, alternatively, a set of library routines; in the end, I
  20. want to use tar or cpio, and be able to read and write tapes as I
  21. do under UNIX (well, kind of).
  22. I got the driver from BSDI's 386BSD, and learned a lot about the io-interface,
  23. but after reading the first block, everything stops and waits for something
  24. to happen (I have an interrupt service routine and a time out routine).
  25. Somehow, I didn't put the protocol right.
  26. What I would like to have, is a description of the commands and statuses
  27. (I have some) and a short description of the protocol (when do I start the DMA,
  28. when does the controller issue an interrupt, what do I do then ...).

  31. time. I will happily provide you with the driver / lib, if I get it to work.
