- I've got an original IBM PC that supports cassette BASIC and has one
- 5 1/4" Full Height Floppy Diskette Drive. It's over 10 years old!
- Anyway, I want to make a terminal/simple word processor out of it and
- I'd like to add a hard disk, either 10 or 20 Mbytes. Which hard disk
- controllers will work? I checked the date of the ROM's and the docs
- I have indicate these ROM's will support Hard Disk Boot-up. Will any
- off-the-shelf MFM controller work or does it have to be IBM? WIll I
- need a HD controller with on-board ROM? Any hints will be greatly
- appreciated. Thanks!

- P.S. I know, I know, it's probably better to upgrade to a newer/faster
- machine but ... I've got a 386/40 and this IBM PC will just be for terminal
- emulation, word processing, and games that won't work slow enough on
- the 386 to be useful! Besides, I have several 10 and 20 Mbyte hard drives,
- just no controller... Does anyone have one for sale?
