- Oh yeah... this is not an easy one...
- From my experience of importing stuff from the US to Germany:
- - make sure the package contains exact value information
- (in your case you want to make sure the cuurent low value
- of the machine)
- - declare it as a gift (this does not ensure your recipient does
- not have to pay customs --- in Germany about 15% of the value,
- but there is a better chance)
- - the S&H depends on the weight and volume of the package
- (a package the size of a dictionary weighting say 3 kilo
- is about $150.- to ship with a carrier like UPS, DHL from CA to
- Germany --- one week delivery)
- - insurance probably is neglectable compared to the S&H
- So to summarize I do not believe it is reasonable to ship that
- box to the UK...
