- I posted a message in this conference earlier on requesting
- information on scanners, particularly 256 grayscale handheld
- scanners. I'm still interested in hearing from people with
- hands-on experience, particularly with OCR (what software
- are you using?). I will post information in this conference
- as I receive it.

- One useful reference I have just discovered is the January 1993
- issue of Computer Shopper. It has a section devoted to explaining
- the technical backgroud to scanners of all types, and a chart
- listing many different scanners with cursory data on each. If
- you're in the market, like I am, you should give this article a
- look!
