  12. I posted a message in this conference earlier on requesting
  13. information on scanners, particularly 256 grayscale handheld
  14. scanners.  I'm still interested in hearing from people with
  15. hands-on experience, particularly with OCR (what software
  16. are you using?).  I will post information in this conference
  17. as I receive it.

  19. One useful reference I have just discovered is the January 1993 
  20. issue of Computer Shopper.  It has a section devoted to explaining
  21. the technical backgroud to scanners of all types, and a chart
  22. listing many different scanners with cursory data on each.  If
  23. you're in the market, like I am, you should give this article a 
  24. look!
