  10. I had a complex but stable configuration on my 386 in which I used a
  11. 3c503 card to communicate with the world. A disk crash led to DOS 5.00
  12. installation (replacing 4.01), which left me short of room, so
  13. I tried 386MAX for the first time. All worked well until I tried
  14. loading 386MAX in config.sys (even without using it to load drivers
  15. or TSRs) and then loading the ethernet software. Interestingly, the
  16. machine will cooperate for a few minutes, and then hangs (not even
  17. alt-ctrl-del will reset).
