- Hi:
- I want to upgrade my 386dx/25 's memory from 4M to 8M. I am having
- trouble determining what kind of memory chips I have. The following appears
- on the chips:
-
- KM41C1000AP-7
- 972 Korea
-
- I know that the -7 indicates that the chip is 70ns (right?). Could someone
- tell me what the capacity of the chip, and possibly the make, is? My guess
- is that the chips are 128K since 36 of these little devils make up a 4M bank
- (128Kx32 = 4M). Also, I spotted the following on the memory chips of my
- SpeedStar 24X with 1M:
-
- KM44C256CP-6
- 217 Korea
-
- which are apparently of the same make. Does the '256' indicates that the
- chips are 256K? If they are, and since there are 8 of them, wouldn't
- 8x256K = 2M (w/o parity) instead of 1M? Please enlighten me on this. I
- appreciate any information or suggestion.
