- Hello: I recently bought a Star SG-10 Dot Matrix Printer from
- one of my friend and I am having problems. I have connected it
- to my IBM/286 machine (Hyundai PC compatible).
-
- The test printing comes out fine when I hold the line-feed button
- while switching the power supply on. However, when I connect it
- to my computer, and try printing say "DIR > LPT2", only part
- of the directory gets printed -- it skips characters inbetween
- and some lines too. For example, "echo 'abcdefghijklmn' > LPT2",
- will print something like "abcdeikn" ! I think the problem is
- in the setting of the DIP switches. Since I dont have the manual,
- I an unable to set the correct configuration. Right now, I have
- DIP switches set to: (1) 1-8 = ON
- (2) 1 = ON, 2 = OFF, 3 = OFF, 4 = ON.
- Is this correct ?
-
- Can anyone send me more information on this printer ? Any help
- would be very much appreciated. Is there anywhere I can purchase
- a copy of this printer's manual ?
-
- Thanks in advance for the help.
