  16. Hello:   I recently bought a Star SG-10 Dot Matrix Printer from 
  17. one of my friend and I am having problems.  I have connected it
  18. to my IBM/286 machine (Hyundai PC compatible).

  20. The test printing comes out fine when I hold the line-feed button
  21. while switching the power supply on.  However, when I connect it 
  22. to my computer, and try printing say "DIR > LPT2", only part
  23. of the directory gets printed -- it skips characters inbetween
  24. and some lines too.  For example, "echo 'abcdefghijklmn' > LPT2",
  25. will print something like "abcdeikn" !   I think the problem is
  26. in the setting of the DIP switches.  Since I dont have the manual,
  27. I an unable to set the correct configuration.  Right now, I have
  28. DIP switches set to:   (1) 1-8 = ON
  29.                        (2) 1 = ON, 2 = OFF, 3 = OFF, 4 = ON.
  30. Is this correct ?

  32. Can anyone send me more information on this printer ?  Any help
  33. would be very much appreciated.  Is there anywhere I can purchase
  34. a copy of this printer's manual ?
