  16. That's not quite true -- they're upward compatible, but not downward
  17. (the 1542B supports scatter/gather I/O, the 1542A doesn't).  As long
  18. as you just use the on-board BIOS the cards are interchangable, but
  19. if you plan to use an external driver (like for Unix or OS/2) be sure
  20. it supports the 1542A.
