  11. I'd like a PC similar to the workstations available a few years ago,
  12. and the biggest problem seems to be finding a monitor that will do a
  13. good job displaying lots of text.  What I'm looking for is

  15.     1.  Size:  about 18 (or more) inches diagonal.

  17.     2.  Monochrome.  (Color would be great if the dot pitch was about 0.12mm.)

  19.     3.  At least 1024x768 resolution, and preferably higher.

  23. Also, are there SVGA cards that allow you to use high resolutions in
  24. *text* mode?  Graphics mode programming is a pain, and I suspect it is
  25. slow in high resolution modes unless you get a graphics accellerator,
  26. causing even more software headaches.
