- I'd like a PC similar to the workstations available a few years ago,
- and the biggest problem seems to be finding a monitor that will do a
- good job displaying lots of text. What I'm looking for is

- 1. Size: about 18 (or more) inches diagonal.

- 2. Monochrome. (Color would be great if the dot pitch was about 0.12mm.)

- 3. At least 1024x768 resolution, and preferably higher.

- Also, are there SVGA cards that allow you to use high resolutions in
- *text* mode? Graphics mode programming is a pain, and I suspect it is
- slow in high resolution modes unless you get a graphics accellerator,
- causing even more software headaches.
