- I just purchased a used HP PaintJet for short money, but it doesnt have a
- manual and/or any disks. It is a serial printer BTW. I can output text
- to it (copy file.ext com1) but when I try and access it through windows,
- the color doesnt come out right. instead of a sort-of-nice color bitmap,
- I get the picture, but it is divided up into 1/8 inch blocks, and some
- colors in the blocks, sort of a checker pattern, are darker than others.
- I've fiddled with all the settings in windows to no avail, and played a
- little with the dips on the printer, but still cant get it to work. any
- help out there?
