  20. I'd assume that some utilities which display system configuration might tell
  21. you this.  On my machine (486SX/33 with AMI bios), I get a message at boot-up
  22. which says "128 KB Cache found" or something like that.  I think that would
  23. indicate that it's working.  I don't know about your system, though.

  29. If you pulled the cache, I assume that it must be present and isn't vaporware.
  30. So if it is in fact not recognized, there are hardware problems.

  35. What were the rumblings and where did you hear them?  If ZEOS tech support
  36. knowingly sold you cache which wouldn't work, they're being sleazy.  In some
  37. apps, it's hard to notice the difference that cache provides.

  42. Really?  What BIOS are you using?  Does the BIOS even have a setting for the
  43. *internal* cache (which a DX2/66, like all Intel 486s, has 8K of)?  Is this
  44. machine using Fred's Fly By Night BIOS (tm)?
