- A while back I posted in some detail of problems I was having getting
- a 120MB CMS Trakker unit to work. Since then, I sent it back to CMS
- for them to take a look at it. The customer service in this firm is
- first rate, and many people took a lot of time to help me with the
- problem.
-
- The bottom line is that the problem is really not CMS's. The unit is
- very sensitive to el-cheapo serial/parallel cards, and the unit requires
- that LPT1 be properly supported with IRQ circuits and logic on the board.
- If you can't select among and between IRQs for LPT1, your Trakker probably
- will not work. (As an aside, I also find that such boards don't work with
- parallel port hardware locks either - or at least not reliably)
-
- So far I have tested
- four different manufactures of cards and have found problems with three
- of them. Once I find a solid supplier, I will let the network know.
