- Sheez, I wish I had asked this question before I left for
- break. My power supply (PS) fan made a racket and I was afraid to
- open up the PS, especially during the semester when I need to
- computer.

- Well over vacation the fan went out causing my HD to
- eventually fail (I wasn't around when the fan went out). I
- replaced the fan, a simple operation, however it did not work.
- I figured a chip had gone bad, so I didn't attempt to reverse
- the leads. At least I didn't throw the old PS away.

- If your computer is under warranty, I suggest you take it to an
- authorized dealer unless you don't mind voiding the warranty.
- If you do plan to fix it yourself, it's no big deal. Just
- make sure you don't touch in capacitor leads. :)
