- I formatted a tape in my CMS Jumbo 250 for the first time last night, using
- CMS-supplied software. When the 1:00:00 appeared in the "time remaining"
- field, I assumed that that meant 1 MINUTE (even though that should have been
- represented as 1:00.00). It really took an hour.
-
- My question is: what the Hell is it doing for that hour? My feeling is that
- it could put the entire works of Shakespeare and maybe a couple of phone books
- on tape in that much time. What is there about formatting a tape that makes
- it take that long?
