- Hello world of the net,
-
- A while ago i dug out my dad's old Commodore PC-10 and decided to make it
- become an AT. I have found a 8/10 Mhz AT motherboard and mamadged to
- make all the old hardware work with it, except for the most important
- thing :
- The harddisk, an old Olivetti HD with 20 MB and connected to the computer
- by an OMTI - controller, refuses to work. In fact, I can get the directory
- of the HD if I boot from a floppy, but if I want to start any program,
- I get something like a "SEEK ERROR" and the loading is aborted.
- The omti controller has a lot of jumpers, does anybody know what they meen
- and how to set them correctly ? In the old XT, none of them was set.
- Is it possible to use the old Controller and Harddisk without re-formatting ?
- (There is important data on this HD)
-
-
- Thanx for any kind of help,
-
- Frank.
-
- PS : please reply via e-mail, I usually don't read this group.
