  11. What feature is it that makes the DC2120 tape store 120M on a Jumbo
  12. 250 and only 60M on a Jumbo 120?  Does QIC-80 have twice as many
  13. tracks?  Is the linear density doubled?  Both run from the same floppy
  14. controller, so I doubt encoding differences.

  16. (I just helped my Dad install a Jumbo 120 drive.  On the drive's
  17. circuit board were two boxes labelled "120" and "250", and an "X" was
  18. in the "120" box; clearly they share the logic board, perhaps with
  19. some component differences.  So I start speculating: what's the real
  20. difference here that makes the 250 cost more?  Perhaps the 250 has a
  21. different cam on the head positioner stepper and a different ROM that
  22. makes twice as many tracks available...)
