  14.    Hello,
  15.    yesterday eventually the head-moving motor of my HP Deskjet 500 ran hot
  16.    and in effect either the motor of the carriage or its controller are out 
  17.    of order, the printer completely turns off, if he's trying to move the 
  18.    carriage to the resting position (because he has to drive up that tiny 
  19.    rubber-cap a little hill). Without the head installed the printer stops
  20.    working, complaining about paper-jam.
  21.    Two questions:

  23.    -- the problem arose while the printer was idle and attached to an
  24.       OS/2-running compatible with the beta-test-DJ-driver from IBM installed.
  25.       I experienced various software Problems with it, has anyone experienced
  26.       hardware problems (perhaps like the above)?
  27.    -- has anyone experience in fixing such motor-troubles or information about
  28.       the controlling technique used by HP in the DJ500 (It's a TI 298KV
  29.       controller, but I cannot figure out how the sense signals are 
  30.       connencted).
