- Hello,
- yesterday eventually the head-moving motor of my HP Deskjet 500 ran hot
- and in effect either the motor of the carriage or its controller are out
- of order, the printer completely turns off, if he's trying to move the
- carriage to the resting position (because he has to drive up that tiny
- rubber-cap a little hill). Without the head installed the printer stops
- working, complaining about paper-jam.
- Two questions:
-
- -- the problem arose while the printer was idle and attached to an
- OS/2-running compatible with the beta-test-DJ-driver from IBM installed.
- I experienced various software Problems with it, has anyone experienced
- hardware problems (perhaps like the above)?
- -- has anyone experience in fixing such motor-troubles or information about
- the controlling technique used by HP in the DJ500 (It's a TI 298KV
- controller, but I cannot figure out how the sense signals are
- connencted).
-
- Thanks in advance,
- MC
