- Run away!
-
- No, really. All those units that start near the Russians are toast if they
- stay there. Have the VL garrison set up on the east side of town and retreat
- one of the other HQs with some NORMAL artillery into the western half (the
- 83rd works well). Everyone else should run away to the west with some of the
- faster units digging in in favorable terrain until the slower ones catch up.
-
- It is almost impossible for the Russians to quickly take VL so their advance
- beyond it will be very slow and quite tenuous because of the supply
- considerations.
-
- Use the German motorized artillery's Shoot'n'Scoot ability to attack the
- Russian units advancing across open terrain. By the time they get near the
- city on the rail line they will be so weak that the by then arrived 8th
- Panzer will be able to smash the artillery-weakened lead units.
-
- Set up the Germans on the edge of forest areas and behind rivers and dig in
- and fortify everywhere. Use artillery on the Russian units advancing
- across open terrain.
-
- One warning though. The Russians get some pretty hefty reinforcements so
- don't get TOO cocky if you have early success. And they also get TONS more
- victory points for inflicting German casualties than vice versa (I think).
