- Civilophiles,
- I have just recently acquired Civilization from someone through the
- newsgroup. The version level on the disks is .01. I have version .02
- through .05 upgrades (why does .04 change the intro.txt file to read
- 474.02 and why was it released as "update.exe and .cmp", rather than
- just as a new "civ.exe" like all the others?), and the only one which
- includes any explanatory info is the .03 patch, which also had a bunch
- of new graphics files. Is there an Internet source for, or can anyone
- describe the changes in each patch level?
- E-mail to me is certainly OK, but due the wide popularity of this game,
- posting would probably be more useful, and I will consolidate any and
- all responses I get and forward them to "Doc" O'Neill for inclusion in
- the FAQ (if you don't mind, Brian).
-
- Also, just in case you're interested, Computer Strategy Plus (a British
- gaming magazine) has an
- offer right now for a FREE copy of RR Tycoon with a one year
- subscription, which is $32/yr. So, you can save $6 over CnB's price
- (inc. shipping) and get a free gaming mag for a year if you want to look
- at it that way. The 800 # is 283-3542. Tell 'em I sent you. (No, I
- don't work for Microprose or CSP. ;-) )
-
- Thanks for your help,
