- No, but we've run into two other bugs:
-
- 1. (Minor) Occasionally, UW2 crashes with "error D004". I seem to
- recall that this is an "out of memory" error (but I could be wrong).
- This is on a PC with over 600K low mem and plenty of
- extended/expanded memory. It seems to occur mostly while restoring a
- game after playing for a while. The workaround is simple: save often
- (say, every 5 minutes or so), and exit UW2 before restoring a game.
-
- 2. (Potentially nasty) We ran into what *APPEARED* to be an inventory
- bug: after playing the game for awhile, the graphics for the objects
- in our inventory became corrupted, and the game's notion of how much
- the character was carrying, increased (i.e., the game suddenly
- thought that the character was carrying less, even though the
- character was loaded almost to the max -- we were, however, maxed out
- for quite a long time). After that, things rapidly fell apart:
- certain commands would not work, the mouse cursor occasionally
- vanished, trying to identify an item would place the cursor into
- "enter text on map mode" (even though the map was not even being
- displayed, etc.). The game eventually crashed. After restarting the
- game (again and again -- the game crashed in a similar fashion a
- number of times after restarting from the *SAME* point), we managed
- to do something to un-wedge the game and continue onward (we tried
- all sorts of games with dropping items from our inventory, just in
- case it was another inventory bug).
