- Hi there!
-
- Just thought I'd post to compliment a good game. It's got good graphics +
- sound plus a pretty reasonable story-line as well. You play the part of the
- captain of a starship in a galaxy subjugated into slavery by an evil alien
- race. Your aim is to rebuild an alliance of friendly races to save the
- galaxy! The game begins with a bare bones starship which you must improve
- by 'buying' add-ons with resources mined from other worlds. New
- types of additions become available as you discover new technologies,
- bigger and better weapons etc. Don't expect 400 different types of
- item though, this is no megatraveller. Combat is handled arcade style 1 on 1
- with enemy ships. The game runs to a time-line with a fair few sub-plots (
- questy type things) running parallel to the main plot. i.e. its fairly
- linear but has some interesting kinks.
-
- One of the standout things about SCII for me was the sense of humor of its
- writers. There are some real gems in this one!
-
- I liked it!
