- In a previous article, barnett@sun1x.actc.res.utc.com (Mark Barnett) says:

- I guess I'm a purist - I drive with steering help off. I don't win
- many (OK, I don't win ANY) races, but I find it more satisfying. I don't,
- however, find it overly sensitive. I use a CH FlightStick with a CH gamecard.
- In the past, I've found that the FlightStick gives mush better control in
- flight sims than, for example, the Gravis stick. I think that, if I were still
- using my old Gravis stick, the car would be uncontrollable.
-
- >What about traction help? I didn't even bother trying to turn
- >this off, but I can imagine just how helplessly askew my car
- >will be at each corner without it.
-
- It's not as big a change as the help/no help choice.
-
- >How about linear vs nonlinear steering?
-
- Again, not as big a difference as the help/no help choice.
-
- I use steering help off, manual brake, manual shift, line off, auto spin on,
- no-damage mode (I like to get around the track without being bumped out of the
- race), linear steering, keyboard brake (switched), button 1 upshift, button
- 2 downshift, joystick steering, and joystck accelerator.
-
- Boy, this thing does have lots of options.
-
- I'd like to propose a little competition:
-
- Using the above settings, what's you best time (practice - no other cars on
- the road) at Silverstone?
-
- Using any configuration (including auto gears, steering help, etc) whats your
- best lap time (just you on the track) at Monaco?
