- I was once a sysop here in Nacogdoches, Texas and I can fill you in on the
- why's of using arj over lha.

- Arj has a tighter compression ratio than Lha. Arj has the newest updates to
- it's standard. It offers the same capabilities as Lha but allows for file
- splitting on compression to whatever size you require. Arj also has a better
- history of not being hacked as Lha was in the creation of Ice compression.

- To all. Zip was nice but unless someone else is willing to pick up the ball,
- it appears that the Zip standard will stay with the old programing. It has
- been two years almost since the last zip update. Arj should be considered for
- the new standard. It requires a little reading when it comes to parameters but
- offers everything that zip and its utilities offer in a single package with
- 20-30% better compression.
