- It looks like this "breakout box" is not available anywhere, you have to
- build it yourself. The original post mentioned a group of people on
- Compuserve that apparently built a programmable version of this that
- could remap joystick buttons, connect more than 2 joysticks, etc. I
- was hoping for some information from them, but I have heard nothing
- so far.
-
- If you just want to use two standard joysticks (for simulations like
- Falcon 3 or GS2000), you can use a Y adapter with a single game port
- or get a dual game port. I really liked the way Falcon 3 worked with
- 2 joysticks: right joystick controls ailerons and elevators, left
- joystick controls throttle and rudder. I can't fly GS2000 without
- 2 joysticks (I _need_ analog control of the collective).
-
- The problem I would like to solve is, now that I have a Thrustmaster
- FCS, I can't use 2 joysticks (I mean the FCS and another joystick).
- The FCS uses the X & Y axis of the right joystick, and the Y axis of
- the left joystick for the coolie hat. It also uses both buttons on both
- joysticks. I would like to use my second joystick to control the X axis
- of the left joystick, but I need a way to disable the X axis and buttons
- for that joystick. Hence the need for the breakout box. I would also like
- to be able to flip a switch to re-enable the X axis and buttons of the
- left joystick and diasble the coolie hat and buttons 3 & 4 of the FCS so
- that I can use 2 joysticks with programs that have never heard of or
- don't need the FCS.
-
- Someone suggested that I could buy all of the Thrustmaster products:
- FCS, WCS, rudder pedals. This would be nice, and I probably will
- eventually, but it won't do everything I want it to do.
- Programable button remapping and programable switching of
- even more analog inputs would solve all of my problems.
