  14. MAHJONG FOR ONE is an authentic mahjong game as played by the Chinese.  It is
  15. not a solitaire game like Taipei or Shanghai, which use mahjong tiles but
  16. otherwise have no resemblance to this real fascinating ancient Chinese game.

  18. For those of you who do not know the game, mahjong is similar to gin rummy,
  19. but much more complex and challenging.  It is a very popular social and
  20. gambling game.  MAHJONG FOR ONE provides a beginner mode in which the
  21. program will give recommendations on what overall strategy to adopt and what
  22. tile to discard.  In all modes, the program will give defensive suggestions.

  24. For those of you who are familiar with mahjong, this version is easily the
  25. best available.  It plays the 14 tile variation with features like unlimited
  26. undo and tile counts.  If you are looking for a game to practice with, this
  27. is definitely the one you want to have.

  29. This is a shareware PC mahjong game running under DOS.  It is available
  30. via anonymous ftp from f.ms.uky.edu under /pub/msdos/Games/mahjong.zip.

  32. limited to 16 distinct deals.
