- IMPORTANT
- =========
-
- GAME BYTES REQUIRES A PC.
-
-
-
- I currently run a GameBytes mailing list. Any subscribers to this
- list are required to use the following syntax in correspondence with
- the mailing list.
-
- ******
- All correspondence must be sent to tony@gpx3.engr.mun.ca as this is the
- only place that runs the mailing list.
- ******
-
-
- The following is the correct way to send items to the mailing list.
-
- [format] Is one of
- graphic - The graphical format of the magazine includes
- screen captures
-
- notify - For those of you with ftp capabilities, it would be
- easier if you would ftp your own copy from one of
- the archive sites:
- ftp.ulowell.edu (129.63.32.1)
- wuarchie.wustl.edu (128.252.135.4)
- The notify option of the mailing list, will as it
- implies, mail you when a new issue has come out.
-
- text - The text format of the magazine still requires a PC
- but because of the lack of screen captures, the size
- is considerably smaller.
-
- All messages to the mailing list are put in the Subject: line of your
- letter.
-
- TO SUBSCRIBE:
- GB subscribe [format]
-
- TO UNSUBSCRIBE:
- GB unsubscribe [format]
-
- TO REQUEST BACK ISSUES:
- GB request [format] [issue number]
-
- ****************************
- ONLY ONE REQUEST PER MAILING
- ****************************
- example:
- mail -s "GB subscribe graphic" tony@gpx3.engr.mun.ca < /dev/null
- mail -s "GB unsubscribe notify" tony@gpx3.engr.mun.ca < /dev/null
- mail -s "GB request graphic 3" tony@gpx3.engr.mun.ca < /dev/null
-
-
- The letter body of your post does not need anything, therefore (in unix)
- using the command
-
- mail -s "GB subscribe text" tony@gpx3.engr.mun.ca < /dev/null
-
- is an easy way to send the appropriate message to me.
-
- Note:
- 1. Text issues are only available as of issue 4
- 2. Only one back-issue request per mailing
