- I prefer ASC. If the file gets corrupted, ASC always seems to be able to
- tell. UUDECODE, ton the other hand, has created binaries that hav e
- caused me problems like memorey loss.

- Also, I think programs at seq.uncwil.edu should be posted in ASC form
- because it allows students who use modems to get to their VAX/VMS systems
- to circumvent all the problems associated with transferring binaries via
- the vax. I don't know if the problem is only on our vax or others too
- but our vax always corrupts hp binaries as well as PC executables. This
- is a pain in the rear when you're trying to download to your PC at home
- via modem. The problem is circumvented by going straight to our unix
- computers and then to disk via PC-NFS, but that doesn't allow us to
- transfer files when we are at home.

- The long and the short of it is that I think ASC is the best way to get
- HP48 binaries without corruption. What do you all think?
