  12. It is possible to have a library ATTACHED to more than
  13. one directory (for example your HOME directory and some
  14. subdirectory). If so the library must be DETACHED from
  15. each directory that it is ATTACHED to.

  17. This can be checked by using the LIBS command on the 
  18. second page of the MEMORY menu. It will return a list
  19. of all the librarys ATTACHED to the current directory.
  20. (there can only be one library ATTACHED to any subdirectory)

  22. Also, make sure the library is not referanced by the HP.
  23. (a copy of the library on the stack or in LAST STACK,
  24. LAST ARG, LAST CMD)
  25.  
  26. Most libraries will automaticly ATTACH themselves to the
  27. HOME directory when they are stored in a port and the HP
  28. is turned off and back on again. And seeing that a library
  29. that is ATTACHED to your HOME directory, is also visible
  30. in any subdirectory. It does not make much sense to have
  31. a library ATTACHED to both your HOME directory and a
  32. subdirectory.

  34. To avoid this problem, first store the library in a port,
  35. then turn the HP off and back on again.
  36. Second, DETACH the library from your HOME directory.
  37. Then ATTACH the library to the desired subdirectory.
  38. (the library will then be visible only in that directory
  39. and all of its subdirectories.)

  41. THERE IS ONE PROBLEM!
  42. Many (most?) libraries will reattach to your HOME directory
  43. at the next warmstart.
  44. (Like when you store another library)
  45. So the library may be ATTACHED to two directories anyway.

  47. There are some programs (libraries) avaliable that will help
  48. to avoid this problem.
