- Here's an added feature of my TDS 512K RAM Card that other people may be
- interested in. I don't know if this can affect their 128K and 256K cards,
- but if they are similiar in construction (casing wise) its very likely.
- What happened is a jarred my calculator, nothing much. Later when I turned it
- on, I noticed that I didn't have any libraries, in fact, port 2 (where the
- 512K RAM card was located) wasn't being recognized. Anyway, what I've found
- to be happening is that the back of the RAM Card is just a metal sheet
- glued to the card (I can't tell, but now that I look, it seems that my HP
- RAM Card is made the same way.) Nevertheless, what can happen is the glue
- gives out and the metal sheet moves away from the card causing the battery
- contacts to lose contact with the battery. Whammo, 512K or whatever size
- your card is, gone. Just a little warning to look at your cards now and then.
-
- Oh, yeah, it appears that by removing the battery compartment and putting a
- little super glue between the card and the metal sheet solves the problem.
- However, its only been glued together one day. Don't try it unless your brave.
