- Just got a 128K RAM card, and after putting it in I had about
- 140K of RAM free. I downloaded a couple of small (7K) files,
- then had problems with minehunt2 (27K)--had a couple extra
- characters in it. Edited once on the stack, deleted too much,
- so when I went to edit it again and ENTER it, it said I had
- insufficient memory! Memory free showed 56K, which seemed low.
- I downloaded the fixed file, and after just going around to
- different directories and looking around, I finally have about
- 105K of memory free. It started at 65K, then to 75K, 90K, and
- ended up at 105K free.
-
- So, why did I have so much memory used, and why did just 'playing'
- with it free up the memory? By my calculations, I'm still missing
- about 20K of memory--105K free, 35K from everything in the HOME
- dir, and 3K for a tetris library, which is 20K short of the 164K
- bytes total I have. I did clear the stack before, which I have
- found can leave a 'hole', and thus you can have missing memory
- from that, but that didn't help.
