  11. I heard at the last Puget Sound HP User's Meeting that HP is planning on
  12. rewriting the entire OS for the '48; nothing much operational will
  13. change, but expect big improvements in the speed of the program editor
  14. and equation writer as well as a more advanced graphing shell (supposedly
  15. it will have a trace command like the casio graphing calcs). I have no
  16. details, but it is definite (well, as definite as this rumor) that there
  17. will be an upgrade option much like they did with the 95LX.
  18. This isn't based on pure speculation and rumor, however; HP sent out
  19. questionairres to all of the 48sx software vendors (Sparcom, etc...)
  20. asking what entry points (documented and undocumented) they used. This is
  21. a clear indication that they are at least thinking about going through
  22. with the rewrite. I don't know anything about the rev. J stuff, but I
  23. think this much more exciting. Keep in mind, however, that this is only a
  24. rumor......
