- I'll check on this, but one point: The character 124 is the UNIX "pipe"
- character, a vertical unbroken bar. The character which IS being
- generated is a ISO 8859-1 vertical BROKEN bar. These characters appear
- the same in many fonts, so I can guess that a misunderstanding has
- occurred *somewhere*.
